“When you have a heartfelt belly laugh, all parts of your being – the physiological, the psychological, the spiritual – they all vibrate in one single tune. They all vibrate in harmony!”

Join us for the inaugural BBB ride to visit the Belly Love Brewing Company in Purcellville. We’ll stop for a period of time to relax, enjoy each others company and of course partake of some refreshments be they alcoholic or not. We’ll be leaving from the Douglass Community/Leesburg Elementary School Annex in Leesburg and heading out to Purcellville a round trip distance of about 21 miles. This part of the W&OD is much more rural, scenic and fairly shady as compared to heading East towards Alexandria. We’ll stop briefly a few times along the way as needed.

***IMPORTANT*** Please be certain you plan on attending before you RSVP. If you RSVP and your plans change… no worries. Just be sure to update your status so someone else on the wait list can jump in if they want. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

This event is also posted to the “Lets Take a Hike…” meetup group. If this event is wait listed, click THIS LINK to check the event on the other meetup group to see if it still has openings.

This ride is very much meant to be a leisurely, take-our-sweet-old-time ride appropriate for pretty much anyone on any type of bike. The whole point of these rides is to have some fun. If your looking for something a bit more serious, where the focus of the ride is exercise and getting a good workout in, check out the “W&OD Paceline Bike Ride” that I host.

LENGTH: Approximately 21 miles round trip

ELEVATION GAIN: The W&OD is generally flat except for some easy gradients in places. Some longer then others but nothing very difficult.

DURATION: Approximately 2 hours(1 hour each way) of very leisurely biking + however long we stay at our destination.

Be sure to bring water.

We depart the Community Center parking lot at 3:30 pm

It is highly recommended that you carry the necessary tools and equipment to repair a flat on your own bike and preferably know how to do the repair. If you’re a little iffy on the repair… (getting the tire back on the rim can sometimes be a pain) folks will be more then happy to help out.

For anyone interested, I suggest we gather at either “Spanky’s Pub” or the “Bunker Sports Cafe” for post ride food and refreshments. Both are right across the street from the community center but I’ve never been to either place so I’m all ears for suggestions:-)

Ron has been a lover of nature and an outdoor enthusiast for the last few decades and back in 2009, left an 18 year career in information technology so he could pursue his dreams and passions in nature and the outdoors on a full time basis. Currently, he works as a Sr. Park Ranger for NOVAParks at Algonkian Regional Park. In addition to his day to day duties, he runs all of the parks guided kayak tours and also started the Algonkian Nature Preserve which is a long term labor of love of his.
