We invite you to gather to celebrate the equinox and harvest moon with a relaxing time of hiking, fun, and fellowship on beautiful Mt. Weather near Bluemont. There is no charge for this event. Bring your own food and a snack to share with others for Saturday. $5 donation for Sunday breakfast eggs and pancakes.
You may come prepared to spend the night with your own air mattress and sleeping bag. You may sleep in the Studio or outside in a tent (bring your own or borrow one of ours). You may choose to return to your home to sleep and drive back for the Sunday activities.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2018
10:45 – Welcome Gathering at Blueridge Summit Retreat – outdoor yoga stretches and bean bag toss.
11:45 – Hike on the nearby Appalachian Trail where we will take time to explore and eat our lunch on the rocks at the cascading waterfall. Then we’ll continue on to Buzzard’s Overlook for a time to sit in silence and enjoy the expansive view of the Blue Ridge mountains and Shenandoah Valley.
3:30 – Return to Blueridge Summit Retreat to relax in one of our five hammocks or enjoy the deck and lawn seating, use the art supplies in studio, or walk the forest labyrinth. Set up your tent if you’re camping.
5:00 Campfire meal – Bring your favorite vegetables to cook in foil on the coals of the campfire and/or whatever else you prefer to eat
6:00 pm – Dinner and S’mores or honey cinnamon campfire apples (apple dessert provided)
6:50 pm – Campfire/dinner cleanup
NOTE: Moonrise at 6:20 pm (2 days until full), sunset at 7:20 pm
7:30pm – Studio – moon phases, moonrise times, locating the moon in the sky night and day
8:15 pm – Studio – Foundations of Well Being – video with Dr. Rick Hanson – Mindfulness – Part 1 – Group discussion
9:30 pm – Outside – metta meditation by candlelight
10:00 pm – Optional meditative night walk on the property – moongazing
