Compassionate Conversations (formerly Beer, Conversation and Spirituality) will focus on listening, self-awareness, and learning from one another with non-judgment and non-striving. Compassionate conversations are not easy work, and yet we believe it is what the world needs most right now.
Practicing compassionate conversations is essential to healing our divisions so that we can begin to see that we are one human race agreeing on more than we think. Every month we bring forth topics and questions that provide participants with an opportunity to practice.
For the next 6 months we will be loosely following the book called Compassionate Listening – An Exploratory Sourcebook About Conflict Transformation. The topics in this book are presented by renowned pioneers in transforming the way the world handles conflict through compassionate conversations. This month’s topic is Hatred:
Acknowledging hatred in ourselves is very difficult. Most of us don’t want to do it. We often use less violent terms to describe it to keep from saying it out loud. We will be exploring hatred and what we might do about it.
We reserve the 1st 7-8 minutes for participants to join and will start the conversation promptly @ 7:08.
Dave Norman is one of the founders of Imagine Well Being and passionately believes in the transforming power of intentional community and mindfulness practice. He has many years of experience in contemplative practice and spiritual leadership. Dave believes in the profound importance of building bridges of understanding and compassion in this tumultuous time of change.
Pam Dilucente is on the Imagine Well Being Lead Team and believes in the transforming power of intentional community and mindfulness meditation with a focus on self-compassion.
