Still struggling with doing triple steps to the music? Maybe you’re trying to learn some basic patterns or perhaps have been dancing a while and want to work on polishing your skills. Then come join us for a pizza party, dancing and great fellowship. Even if you have no idea how to lead or follow, don’t let that stop you from getting your quota of at least 6 daily hugs. All levels are welcome from pure beginner to veteran social dancer and no partner is needed.
This is an informal practice session with no instructor and no formal lesson planned. The intent is for the more experienced dancers to informally lead the session while everyone works on things like footwork, patterns, frame and connection. I’m dividing the session up into 3 blocks roughly 45 minutes each. The first block will be mostly up tempo East Coast Swing music, the second block will be mostly slower tempo West Coast Swing music and the third block will be group choice. If there are any Latin dance fans that are into Bachata, Salsa or you’re working on an Argentine Tango let me know. Always looking for practice partners.
We convert the basement into a pretty cool little dance venue complete with sound system, mood lighting, kitchenette and bathrooms just off the dance floor. ***PLEASE ENTER VIA THE BACK ENTRANCE WHICH FACES THE SMALL PLAYGROUND NEXT TO THE MAIN BUILDING. THIS ENTRANCE IS NOT VISIBLE FROM THE PARKING LOT BUT THERE IS A CONCRETE WALKWAY NEXT TO THE BASKETBALL HOOP AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT THAT LEADS TO THIS ENTRANCE***.
Everyone participating in the pizza party will be asked to contribute $5 to the dance practice kitty to help pay for the pizza. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. ALL (100%) of the excess $ will be used to buy snacks, beverages, additional dance music and occasionally pay for the pizza at future dance practice sessions.
