Come join us as we celebrate Earth day and give back to the community by picking up trash and hauling out miscellaneous debris from the Algonkian Nature Preserve (ANP) at Algonkian Regional Park.
The focus of our efforts will primarily be the ANP which includes the lower part of Sugarland Run. But depending on the turnout, we’ll also turn our attention to the Sugarland Run stream valley between Algonkian Parkway and the ANP all of which is part of Algonkian Regional Park.
We’ll be meeting at 9:30AM at the Woodlands trail head in the gravel parking lot off to the right just before you enter the park boat launch area.
Be sure to bring some sturdy boots or trail shoes, work gloves, long pants and a top that you don’t mind getting dirty. A small day pack for water and whatever else you want with you would also be a good idea. The park will provide plenty of trash bags, and some trash pickers. If you happen to have your own trash picker, please bring it along.
