EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Please join us for a beauty inspiring Nature walk through the State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy Experimental Farm. At the end, we will capture beauty in zen watercolor.

Meet at 10:00 by the picnic tables.

Enter Blandy from Route 50. Park in main lot, adjacent to information gazebo. We will be at the picnic tables between this parking lot and Peetwood Pavilion, about 100 feet walk east, toward mountains.

We begin with some relaxation breaths and intentions. As we unwind, can feel nature around us. About 10:30 we will start our nature walk, covering about 2-3 miles on paths and over grass. The pace will be slow, as we’ll likely pause to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the Arboretum. Expect to hear birds, see the trees blooming, smell the flowers and much more.

Our journey ends back at the picnic area just before noon.

Then we will try our hand at painting some of the nature we experienced, Perhaps flowers, birds, trees, sky etc. All watercolor supplies provided.

Post-hike, the Boyce area offers many opportunities for additional hiking, Shenandoah River views and lunch.
