Why am I sending folks to Eventbrite anyway? Good question. We have no intention of leaving meetup for quite sometime… if at all. It’s more a desire to shift the internet center of the Imagine and “Lets Take a Hike From Suburbia” communities from meetup to it’s own independent website. Someday, meetup might simply be one of several sources such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… ect ect, we would like to work with and hopefully draw participants from. The Imagine and “Let’s Take a Hike…” leadership has always wanted to build an intentional community that didn’t require you to “join” anything if you didn’t want to as a requirement for participation. Moving event registration to an independent 3rd party service like Eventbrite is pretty much a requirement for doing this. Anyway, hope you’ll check us out when the Imagine website becomes public.
