Lets enjoy a hike from Riverbend Park to the Potomack Lakes Sportsplex which is located right in front of Algonkian Regional Park, a distance of about 9 mostly flat miles along the Potomac River. There are a few sections that jog up and down a bit to avoid cliffs. This section of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail is pretty much right in our backyard, and regarded as one of the finest sections of the PHT in NVA. A real treat if you’ve never done it before. We meet at the small free standing picnic pavilion which is the second structure you pass on your right behind the Sportsplex. Then we’ll run a shuttle to Riverbend then hike back to the Sportsplex. Would need to retrieve shuttle vehicles at the end of the hike. Please be sure to bring some snacks and plenty of water. Anyone that would like to get together for lunch after the hike, let me know. The company would be most appreciated!
