Weather looks great so I decided to schedule a hike for this Sunday, August 9th from 9-11:00 am.

We will meet at my home on Blueridge Mountain Road (601) because there is limited parking at the AT access point. We can carpool from our place to the AT at Morgans Mill Road which is about 8 minutes from our house.

DIRECTIONS: Take Rt. 7 W past Round Hill and then Bluemont. You will begin to climb Mt. Weather and see a flashing intersection sign. You will turn left from Rt. 7 W onto Blueridge Mountain Rd. You will travel about five miles until you see the FEMA Emergency Management facility. Once past the FEMA fences you will travel approximately a mile and look for the third mailbox on the right. There will be an Hiking sign hanging there to mark the property. This is a beautiful 3/4 mile one way hike that we will take at a slower more relaxed pace.

We will spend some time relaxing at this incredibly beautiful waterfall before we return 3/4 mile back to our carpool vehicles. Bring a snack and some water to enjoy at the waterfall. The weather looks delightful! I will offer some information about a few trees, flowers and understory we will see along the way.

See you Sunday morning!
