We will gather for a 4.0+ mile round trip hike on the Bear’s Den section of the Appalachian Trial to Tributary Bridge/stream including a Hatha Yoga practice on the Bear’s Den AT Hostel lawn. We will meet at the main VDOT parking lot and hike to the Bear’s Den Overlook (3/4 mile) and spend a few moments enjoying the view. We will then walk ((500 yards) on a connecting trail to the beautiful Bear’s Den Hostel for Hatha Yoga. I will bring small tarps (unless you want to pack in your mat). Most of the practice will be standing with some breathing and meditation on the log benches.
We will then continue the hike (1 mile down and back) to a beautiful mountain stream (Tributary Bridge) for some time to quietly reflect on this micro-region and sounds of the water. This is a moderate to easy hike with some rocky and uphill sections.
There is an option of visiting Twin Oaks Winery (non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are available) about 5 minutes from the parking lot after the hike.
