New vistas open up as we hike the AT in the winter season. This morning hike will give you a “holiday gift” as you take the time to reclaim the “wonder” the Southern Appalachians in wintertime.
This will be a beautiful winter hike from Morgan’s Mill Road to Buzzard’s Hill where we will spend a few minutes in silence contemplating the expansive view before we began the return trek. It is an easy to moderate hike. It has both flat and some rocky ups and downs and yet all of it very doable for anyone with some hiking experience. We will begin the hike with some very simple yoga stretches that will help us limber up a bit. There is a small stream/waterfall at the midway point, where we’ll try and have a fire going. You will throughly enjoy this 3.8 mile RT hike. It will help prepare you for the week ahead.
We will meet at a house near the trail and carpool over to the AT trailhead as parking is limited there. Blueridge Summit Retreat
