Join us for a time of community learning and fun as we revision grocery shopping and menu planning as a mindful practice awakening the gift of simplicity and joy as as we care for body, mind and soul.

This experience will help you revision the gift of mindful eating and how to simplify menu planning with some very practical tools. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Develop a weekly meal plan based on personal/family likes so that they can ensure diversity in their nutrition throughout the month

2. Be empowered to take ownership of their meals without the stress of deciding “what’s for dinner” 3. Develop a shopping list based on their self-developed meal plan to save time while shopping and prevent food waste at home

4. Become increasingly aware of portion sizes to prevent overeating 

5. Establish a support network to share recipes and cooking accomplishments

María José is a native of Quito, Ecuador and recently graduated with a Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition from Johns Hopkins in Baltimore City. She is passionate about food access and providing everyone with the opportunity to enjoy quality foods that are rich in flavor and nutrition. Her approach focuses on empowering you to expand the boundaries of your culinary experience and on providing you the tools for you to explore new foods and flavors.
