Into The Garden, A Soul Collage Workshop – Dodi Jackson, Art Therapist

How do I enter the next cycle of my life? On which path do I want to walk to find the next adventure. Enter the garden, a beautiful place to take a few clear breaths, to contemplate, and to feel “self.” Sit here awhile, feel the sanctuary of the blooming place inside.

You may soon get a glimmer of a way to go next… Or you may just find a place inside you that welcomes change and growth, and gives you the desire and courage to go forward. The process of SoulCollage can often help to gently uncover our deep wishes and dreams and show them to us.

SoulCollage is a practice that combines the use of images, intuition, and imagination to create an art form which also can inform us, nourish us, and bring joy to our lives. No previous experience with visual art is needed. Come as you are.

Pack a lunch and bring a small snack to share.
$10 extra materials fee

Please bring:
Materials List:
-A journal or small notebook
-Images cut or torn from magazines
(The categories to look for are people, backgrounds, animals, and objects. ) The cards are 4″x6″, so the images we will use will need to fit into that space. Folks should not bring pieces that they have found to use for themselves. The idea is that all the images will be shared. We’ll all have a chance to visit “the image garden” and see what kinds of things “pop” out to us in the moment. The images should be sorted into the categories.
-Scissors—Slightly smaller than regular size, so they can easily cut around images if you have them.
-Rulers–metal, or wooden with metal edge
-Magazines to be used to keep glue off other surfaces ( so throw away mags, catalogues, etc)
-xacto knives
-surfaces to put underneath when we cut.
-If you have a gold metallic felt tip pen, bring it.
Not everyone has to bring everything—just as many as possible without stress.

Meet Facilitator, Dodi Jackson

I am Dodi Jackson, a woman who lives in gratitude for my more than 40 years as a teacher and artist. I am a Grandmother of five, great grandmother of one, (so far.) I find brightness and fulfillment from sharing a little of my soul with others. I have been deeply enjoying the process of SoulCollage for the past 6 years, and have been certified as a facilitator for this international movement.
I welcome the opportunity to take you on a journey with me.
