By RSVP’ing to attend this event, you agree to release Imagine Well Being and Let’s Take a Hike from Suburbia from any liability. Please review the Liability Release Agreement below.

We will gather as a community to experience a mindful, meditative, five-senses hike with a focus on enjoying the picturesque beauty of the Potomac River and Goose Creek. This easy hike will take us along a flat section of the Potomac Heritage Trail, starting at Elizabeth Mills Riverfront Park and ending at the ruins of Kephart Landing Bridge. The hike will encompass a total of 3.8 miles round trip and should take approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete, depending on the size of the group.

Along the way we may pause to explore how nature has reclaimed areas containing remnants of old stone walls that were once part of the Elizabeth Mills and Goose Creek canal lock systems that served grain operations in the 1800s, part of George Washington’s idea for a commercial highway through the area.

The entrance to the park can be challenging to find – tucked in between two houses in a residential neighborhood – and parking is extremely limited. Carpooling is highly encouraged.

– Sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes
– Water bottle and snack
– Bug spray
