Most of us live stress filled lives.  The truth is we always have stress and so the challenge is how to deal with it in the most holistic way.  One way is through the practice of mindfulness.  The beauty of mindfulness practices is that they are very practical and easily incorporated into everyday life.  Although mindfulness requires some “formal” time to sit with the practice, the real gift is in the application in those moments when we feel overwhelmed, depressed, afraid, impatient, and so on.  Science is now proving that mindfulness practices indeed lead to more holistic and peaceful living.

Dave and Cathy Norman will be the guides for a four session mindfulness experience on the following dates:  March 6, 20, April 3, 17.  To get the most out of the experience it is best to attend all four times.  The times for meeting will be 7-9PM. We will meet at Loudoun Family & Relationship Counseling 215 Loudoun Street SE
Leesburg, VA 20175.

In these four sessions we will practice some of the formal sits, learn the nine attitudes that are core to mindfulness, experience breath work, and in the end take away some very practical practices that will go with us and help us be more centered and peaceful wherever you are.

Dave and Cathy have been engaged in contemplative practices for more than 10 years.  They have attended the basic eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction classes that were established by John Kabot Zinn.  They have also attended seminars on Mindfulness practices focusing on compassion and difficult emotions and stress management for managers at the Satchidananda Ashram outside Charlottesville, VA.
