Our next hike will again be at Maryland Heights. There were only a few of us last time, and the view is fantastic from the over look.
This is a really scenic trek through the Harpers Ferry area.
Here are the particulars about the hike: http://www.hikingupward.com/OMH/MarylandHeights/ This is a level 3 (out of 5) hike with some steep climbs. The hike should take 3 hours including a stop for lunch/snack.
We DO NOT take the really, really steep, longer path. But you can if you like. That adds about an hour+ to the trip.
We were there and back in just over 2 hours last time. This time maybe we’ll do a “Get to Know Each Other” activity at the lookout.
Either way, this will be a hike for enjoyment, not a power hike.
Also, you’ll have time after the hike to explore the town if you like.
According to GoogleMaps it’s about a 45 minute drive from the Ashburn area.
We’ll meet up at the trail head at 9am. See the above link for driving and parking instructions. As always, please come prepared with good walking shoes, food for energy and plenty of water.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Looking forward to a great hike – Glenn
