EVENT DESCRIPTION:
We will gather in warm, welcoming community to enjoy the natural beauty of Morven Park in Leesburg, VA.

The Spring is perfect for this 2.5 mile five senses hike to “soak” in the gift of the mature forests on these historical grounds. Our hike should take approximately 2-3 hrs, depending on the size of the group.

The evidenced based benefits of a five senses, forest soaking hike are shared in the link below.

We will gather at the far end of the Visitor Parking lot, close to the restrooms (still closed due to pandemic). Richard will be wearing a green backpack.

THE HIKE
We will hike through the gardens and past the mansion, then take the Ridge Top Trail through the forest. We will continue to the Wood Thrush Trail with a return via the steeplechase fields. This is approximately 2.5 miles.

This is a Beginners+ Hike for everyone: Hiking boots or water resistant shoes are always good, but not required. One or two spots along the trail could be wet but passable even in sneakers. A very short section of the trail is mildly steep, which we will accomplish together. We will pause for a forest soaking at the top of the ridge. Vernal pools could display new life. Water, fruit and energy snacks are always a good idea.

Feel free to message me through Meetup if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday May 15th from 10:00-12:30 pm.
