Because of the weather forecast we will gather at the lovely Bear’s Den Hostel Lodge and use the adjacent picnic shelter with the big stone fireplace for roasting S’mores! Please park in Bear’s Den Upper Parking Lot (1/4 mile up Blueridge Mountain Rd on the right-small Bear’s Den sign there) not down at the VDOT lot by Rt. 7.

We will meet from 2:30-5:00 pm and enjoy this lovely lodge and celebrate “Mother Earth Day” together by enjoying a nature meditation video, making a simple mother earth collage to remember the gifts of nature in our daily lives and closing our time together by making S’mores in the picnic shelter fireplace just next door.

Please bring a snack to share with others, an umbrella and maybe an extra pair of shoes :). We will not be doing a hike as the forecast calls for a pretty steady rain. It is a beautiful place and I am grateful for Bear’s Den staff for allowing us to reserve this place so quickly.

Some of you may chose to visit the newly opened Bear’s Chase Brewery, https://bearchasebrew.com/just across the road from the Hostel Lodge, before you head home. They have a very nice indoor space and non-alcoholic beverages available as well.

Peace and hope in the gifts of “mother nature”,
