Mountains, Moonlight (Supermoon), and Friends
The weather looks ideal for enjoying the moon rise this Sunday, November 13. This will be a full moon at its closest approach to earth since 1948, not to occur again until 2034. A super supermoon! Moonrise is predicted to be around 4:45 pm, sunset around 5 pm.
We’ll share wonder, awe, and refreshments up on the mountain at Dirt Farm Brewing in Bluemont, VA from 4 pm – 6 pm.
Dirt Farm Brewing is about 15 minutes west of Purcellville, high up on the east facing slope of the mountain. The view is breathtaking. It can be breezy up there so bring multiple layers. They do have a lovely outdoor fireplace to gather around to warm up body and soul 🙂
Address: 18701 Foggy Bottom Rd, Bluemont, VA 20135.
Directions: Route 7 west, left on Clayton Hall Road, left on Snickersville Turnpike, right on Foggy Bottom Road, after 0.5 miles, turn right into clearly marked entrance.
Sue Berkery loves astronomy and will share a brief presentation to help us understand the science behind the supermoon that won’t happen again until 2034.
