Welcome to Beer, Conversation and Spirituality (BC&S)!

Beer, Conversation, and Spirituality is for people to gather in a safe community that invites open conversation about real life matters. If you are looking for a place to talk about matters of life from a practical spiritual (non-religious) focus, then we invite you to join in the conversation. We will send out conversation details to all who sign up.

We reserve the 1st 30 minutes for introductions and will start the conversation promptly @ 7:30.

If for whatever reason you’re unable to attend, PLEASE change your RSVP to NO so that your slot becomes available for someone on the waitlist. Thank you!

TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION:
Mindful Self-Compassion combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion, providing a powerful tool for emotional resilience. A randomized controlled trial demonstrated that MSC significantly increased self-compassion, compassion for others, mindfulness, and life satisfaction, as well as decreased depression, anxiety and stress.

Instead of mercilessly judging and criticizing yourself for various inadequacies or shortcomings, self-compassion means you are kind and understanding when confronted with personal failings – after all, who ever said you were supposed to be perfect? With self-compassion, we give ourselves the same kindness and care we’d give to a good friend.

Topics/Questions
· What does self-compassion mean to you?
· How do you practice self-compassion?
· Why is it different for humans to be self-compassionate than to give
compassion to others?
· Who or what is that voice in our heads that struggles with self-
compassion?
