Serenity Hatha Yoga For Well Being – March 28, April 4, 11, 18 

As we celebrate springtime and daylight increases we will meet in front of the big window for this Serenity Hatha Yoga class four weeks series.  

We will continue to celebrate mindful Hatha Yoga with attention to breath, movement and deep relaxation including Yoga Nidra for stress reduction.

“These four components are complementary with the outcome of: physical and mental fitness, management of emotions and stress, mind-body awareness, mindfulness and spirituality.” Harvard Medical School Special Report – Introduction to Yoga 

We will add a new posture each week to “cultivate” our body awareness, strength building and resilience for springtime activities.

We will include a special focus on the ancient study of yoga and it’s evidenced based connection to Well Being in mind, body and soul.

Class One: Imagine Well Being
Class Two: Limbs of Yoga
Class Three: Yoga, Values and Ethics
Class Four: Yoga & Mindful Spirituality 

There is no charge for this class…we ask that you share intentional acts of service as a way to “pay it forward”. We believe small acts of kindness can change the world one person, family and community at a time!

Cathy is a Hatha Integral Yoga instructor (RYT 200) and has studied mindfulness and meditation practices through her yoga training and the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course and has studied with Dr. Susan Carol Stone (UVA Mindfulness Center). She is a certified to teach mindful yoga to children and families (Budding Yogis). She also completed training at the Shalem Institute in leading contemplative small groups and retreats. She is currently teaching Hatha Integral Yoga at Prosperity Eating Disorders and Wellness Clinic in Herndon and at her private studio near Bluemont, VA. Cathy is also a Virginia Master Naturalist and includes images from the natural world as part of each yoga practice.
