Due to extensive damage to the trees on the mountain in last week’s ice storm and predicted breezy/gusty conditions tomorrow, we’re moving the hike out from under the trees.
We’ll meet at the Lost Mountain entrance to the park and do the 2.5 mile Rolling Meadows trail. Rolling Meadows is a lovely, open trail with continuous views across the (yes, rolling) meadows, and, after a moderate climb, a big view across the whole valley. After that, there will be an option to continue the hike over to Turner Pond and up through the farm to the picnic area for an additional 1.5-2 miles.
Be prepared for mud! It’s a good idea to bring socks and shoes to change into after the hike.
We’ll reschedule the originally planned hike for another day!
NOTE: Cash or check is required at the Lost Mountain entrance.
Hope to see you tomorrow!
Sue and Cathy
We’ll spend some time in silent contemplation, both on the trail and at the viewpoints.
We’ll meet at the Lost Mountain parking area. Chemical toilets are available.
There is a $5/car entrance fee. Cash or check is required at the Lost Mountain entrance.
