We will gather for a 4.0+ mile round trip hike on the Bear’s Den section of the Appalachian Trial to Tributary Bridge/stream including a campfire at the Bear’s Den AT Hostel lawn. You are invited to bring a snack to share at the campfire and your own water. We will walk back over the Overlook and watch the sun begin to set over the Shenandoah Valley before we head back to our cars.
We will meet at the main VDOT parking lot and hike to the Bear’s Den Overlook (3/4 mile) and spend a few moments enjoying the view. We will then walk ((500 yards) on a connecting trail to the beautiful Bear’s Den Hostel for Hatha Yoga. We will then continue the hike (1 mile down and back) to a beautiful mountain stream (Tributary Bridge) for some time to quietly reflect on this micro-region and sounds of the water with the ongoing emergence of spring. This is a moderate to easy hike with some rocky and uphill sections.
