LIABILITY RELEASE:
By RSVP’ing to attend this event, you agree to release Imagine Well Being and Let’s Take a Hike from Suburbia from any liability. Please review the Liability Release Agreement below.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Please join us for a short (approximately 2 miles rt), and casual hike on a section of the Appalachian Trail and Marjorie Arundel Wildflower and Birding Trail to view wild Trilliums in bloom, along with several other species of wildflowers and blooming plants, including violets and ladyslipper orchids. This hike takes place within the GR Thompson Wildlife Management Area with its 4,000 acres of woods, hiking trails, and Lake Thompson.

While relatively short, there are some mild-to-moderate elevation changes, and is a forest hike and the trail can be rocky and/or muddy in places – (there are springs and seeps at various points) – hiking shoes, bug repellent and water are recommended. The pace will be slow, as we’ll likely pause to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the awakening forest.

Please park @ the “Trillium Trail Parking Area” – https://goo.gl/maps/yu6gw9vS3H72G2Pp7 – or enter 38.953544, -78.026924 in your GPS or mapping app, as that name may not be in your map dataset.

Please note that this is a very small parking lot, with room for perhaps 8-10 cars, so car-pool if you can. There is a small parking lot a few hundred yards South on Freezeland road for overflow / shuttle parking.

Post-hike, the area offers many opportunities for additional hiking, and many wineries, breweries, and lunch spots are nearby.
